Kickstarter for WoFi Cloud Connected Sampler Synthesizer Now Active

Post date:

Synthesizer enthusiasts looking for something new and innovative to back on Kickstarter should check out WoFi by Kiviak Instruments, based in the South of France and Germany. WoFi, which stands for “wifi + lofi” is a modern take on classic keyboard samplers from the 80s and 90s. According to Kiviak Instruments, this cloud-connected sampler synthesizer is designed to be easy to play and program, offer an intuitive and familiar interface, and emulate classic samplers. They will also be able to record, manage, and browse samples directly from the machine and use cloud management to take the sampling experience to a whole new level. In addition, the synth will keep to the classic compact and portable form factor that users expect, but with a sleek design twist and substantial I/O connectivity.

With WoFi it is possible to record your own samples with the internal microphone or stereo input and then play any recorded sample chromatically with 10-voice polyphony. The different emulated sample players of the WoFi can transform the samples and the Texturer can be used to bring sprinkles to the sound. Users can sequence notes and parameters to play along with and thanks to its internal battery, microphone, and speaker it is just as useful on the go as in a studio. Kiviak Instruments also created the “mywo.fi” cloud platform, which can be used to facilitate sample management such as backups, browsing, sorting, sharing, and much more. Best of all, the platform does not require any paid subscription, and WoFi users have unlimited storage.

WoFi has a Kickstarter funding goal of $106,021 goal and and thanks to more than 100 backers it looks like it will easily reach this milestone. Pledges are still available for a 25% discount on the future retail price of the WoFi and the synth ships anywhere in the world. According to Kiviak Instruments, the estimated delivery of WoFi is in March of 2024.
