New Iridium Keyboard Now Available From Waldorf

Post date:

Waldorf Music recently unveiled a keyboard version of their latest synth, called the Iridium Keyboard. It features a 47-note FATAR TP/8SK keyboard, complete with polyphonic aftertouch. Unlike standard aftertouch keyboards, where all notes respond the same way, each note on this keyboard responds to pressure individually. This feature has traditionally only been found on high-end synthesizers.

Another standout feature of the Iridium Keyboard is its one-knob-per-function control on the front panel, along with six programmable Macro buttons. These can be used for additional performance control and are user-defined. In addition, Iridium Keyboard has five different synthesis models for every one of its three oscillators in addition to three stereo digital filters per voice, six envelopes, and six LFOs.

In terms of connectivity, the Iridium Keyboard has two audio inputs for processing external signals and CV inputs, gate and trigger in, clock I/O, USB and DIN MIDI, and a USB port. It also has inputs for control and sustain pedals and a headphone output with dedicated volume control and two audio outputs.

Iridium Keyboard boasts a powerful Mod Matrix, which has 40 independent modulation assignments that all have individual settings for Source, Amount, and Destination. Last but not least, it is capable of processing MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) data.
