New Multichannel Audio Processor Crowdfunded in 19 Minutes

Post date:

Enjoy Electronics from Italy recently turned to crowdfund website Indiegogo for their multichannel audio processor, The GodFather. Their promise that it would make users "abandon the conventional mixing concepts" must have struck a chord with people, as the project was 100% funded in just 19 minutes. At the time of writing, their campaign is standing at 657% funded for a total of more than $100,000, thanks to 118 backers.

The GodFather made its first public appearance at Superbooth 2021 in Berlin, where it caused quite a stir, according to Enjoy Electronics, despite missing its LED interface and some functions at the time. Encouraged by their Superbooth experience, they continued with the development of The GodFather and led to the Indiegogo campaign.

On their Indiegogo page, Enjoy Electronics states that The GodFather is a device created to allow naturalness in its use without any compromises. To accomplish this, they have added 36 knobs and 11 buttons that are strategically positioned. They also made the knobs from aluminum instead of plastic to get the right size, finish and feel for the device and hide the potentiometer nuts. Although, of course, the high-quality potentiometers, aluminum knobs, and durable finish increase the device's cost, they provide it with a high-end feel.

To provide users with instant feedback, the panel of The GodFather features 154 LEDs. They were carefully designed and tested to ensure that they were perfectly positioned for luminous homogeneity, and none of them interfered with neighboring LEDs. This attention to detail extends to the case, which is produced in a single piece of aluminum thanks to the extrusion technique used by Enjoy Electronics. Despite its unique design, The GodFather has a 60HP semi-modular footprint, which is the same as a Mother 32, DFAM, and SubHarmonicon. This means it can perfectly fit into Tier Rack stands (4,3,2 sizes).

A high-efficiency power supply is used in The GodFather to power all processes, amplifiers, LEDs, and displays, while the whole audio section is entirely isolated and powered separately. This is done to ensure that there is no way for its audio performance to be affected in any way by the other power supply.

Enjoy Electronics designed The GodFather with a "one-knob-per-function" interface, making it ideal for studio and stage performance. While it is capable of great complexity, they have ensured users that it is surprisingly simple to use with visual indicators that are very intuitive.

The GodFather is the second successful Indiegogo campaign by Enjoy Electronics as their RemindeЯ: All-in-one Audio Effect Unit also received backing in 2019. According to Enjoy Electronics, with their previous Indiegogo campaign, they were able to start deliveries roughly on schedule but have learned a lot about what they can do even better for this campaign. The GodFather will ship worldwide, with shipping estimated to occur in October of 2022. However, not many units of The GodFather are left at the perk cost of €796 EUR, so anyone interested in still getting their hands on one via Indiegogo will have to hurry.
