Native Instruments Pro-Five

Native Instruments Pro-Five Image

This is an amazing new Plug-In for the popular VST and ASIO environments, such as Cubase. The Pro-Five is a brilliant software-emulator recreating the sounds, the look and the programming methods of a legendary synthesizer - the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5. However, aside from an ultra-clean, crisp and clear new sound the Pro-Five adds unlimited polyphony and memory! Of course for that authentic Prophet sound you can choose the Analog Warmth mode for a little warmth and noise, or use it in Digital Accuracy mode, either way it sounds great! Actual screenshot of the plug-in above.

Velocity sensitivity, real-time Midi control and automation of every parameter plus the option to run several Pro-Five's in parallel and all this at a fraction of the cost of the original makes this Plug-In a must see, hear and have! The Plug-In ships with 512 freely programmable preset memories and 512 selected classic analog sounds preprogrammed including 64 new up-to-date sounds by vintage-synth legend John Bowen! Truly a powerful addition to any musicians set-up!

* NOTE: Be sure and check out the new Native Instruments Pro-52 plug-in. It represents the next step in the evolution of the virtual Prophet-5. It adds delay, chorus, flange, external audio input, can function as a stand-alone application and reads original Prophet-5 SysEx MIDI messages for loading actual Prophet patches into the virtual plug-in!

I totally agree with 'gridsleep'; the Pro-53 has got some great patches and groovy noises but it is so slow. My advice? Get both, and use the Pro-53 for great pads, sweeps and drones while the Arturia effort is a better instrument.

I have the Pro-53 installed on my Phenom II 4 core equipped PC, and, while it sounds spectacular, there is over half a second delay between pressing a key on a MIDI keyboard and a sound coming out of they synthesizer. Also the keys don't move to match the keys pressed on a controller. The Arturia Prophet is much more realistically responsive. It's probably why NI dropped the Pro-53. It's just too slow. Sounds very good, though, and the extra sound libraries have some unique sounds in them.
