Roland JX-305 Image

The JX-305 is an awesome synth for electronic & techno musicians! It's like an MC-505 groovebox in a keyboard. All of the MC-505's excellent dance-oriented sounds are included, as well as 4MB more! Combining keyboard style patch synthesis & performance with Groove Approved dance patterns, sequences and phrases the JX-305 is a real dance production studio with 768 dance patterns, 256 User, 640 patches and 28 drum kits.

Perfect for live use with its massive 64 voices of polyphony, you can jam along with it while it's instantly playing a great techno/dance groove! Then grab anyone of the 9 real-time control knobs to start tweaking the filter, envelope, tempo, arpeggiator or LFO. All real-time edits, pattern changes, tweaks and keyboard playing can be recorded into its 8-track sequencer - a robust sequencer with quantizing and edit capabilities! If your bag is dance, trance and rave then this Groovesynth may be all you need! It has been used by Astral.

@jbmusician

If it is only a bad display and not a power issue, I purchased a new display from a guy in Chicago for $60 (blue, no less) and now it works like a charm. I am not sure that it is appropriate to post his info in the messages here, maybe there is some way I can get the info to you if you need it. I love this machine and wouldn't trade it for the world. I wish that Roland did a better job of helping service legacy equipment.

I have mine unused for about 5 years now. It powers up but no display on the LCD, just blank, no signal on the outputs as well. Took this to a local distributor's service center but was advised to buy a new synth instead. I have given up hope on this. :(
I miss playing with this synth, very useful for sparking ideas.

For those who have units unable to boot and function properly, hold ENVELOPE (next to the volume) and PART MUTE. Your JX-305 should boot now. It just worked for me and my unit has been inoperable for over two years and I just decided to fix it. The JX is a wonderful synth and its arpeggiator and sequencer are awesome! Quantize, microscope edit, step sequencer, 808, 303 and 909 sound... This synth is VERY under rated.

Great keyboard the JX305,if you like the MC505 & 303.it's the MC505 sort of keyboard version.Really good for dance,& so is the CS6x too which i own also.The plg boards add a wealth of things to the CS6x...i only with they'd produce more like imagine the nord lard sounds or anyother synth you can think of under the CS6x engine.
