The Bob Moog Foundation has had some fantastic prizes up for grabs in previous raffles, including vintage Moog synths as well as Minimoog Model D’s signed by everyone from Herb Deutsch and Billy Joel to Bob Moog himself. However, this time they have teamed up with Moog Music to announce a raffle for serial #1 of the latest version of the Minimoog Model D, released in 2022. This one-of-a-kind coveted synthesizer is worth in excess of $5,000 and is the only Minimoog in existence with this serial number. 

The Minimoog Model D, featuring serial number MD00001, was built by hand at the Moog Music factory in Asheville, North Carolina. It is housed in a locally sourced Appalachian cherry cabinet with a hand-finished aluminum chassis. No changes have been made to the original sound engine audio path to deliver the authentic sound of a pristine vintage Moog. However, the 2022 Minimoog Model D does include a series of popular functional modifications to expand its sonic capabilities. These include a dedicated analog LFO with triangle and square waveshapes, a premium Fatar keybed, MIDI integration, a mixer feedback modification, and a spring-loaded pitch wheel with a center deadband. 

As always the proceeds from this raffle will be used for the benefit of the Bob Moog Foundation’s educational project, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool as well as the preservation of the Bob Moog Foundation Archives. The raffle is open from the 23rd of May, 2023, until 11:59 pm (ET) on June 23.
