Fully Restored Moog Source Signed by Bob Moog Up For Grabs In 2024 Winter Raffle

Fully Restored Moog Source Signed by Bob Moog Up For Grabs In 2024 Winter Raffle

Post date:

The Bob Moog Foundation’s 2024 Winter Raffle is in full swing, and this time, one lucky winner will walk away with a Moog Source synthesizer. Not only has the synth been fully restored, but it also features Bob’s signature, making it a true collector’s item.

The Moog Source was first available between 1981 and 1985, causing quite a stir with its rich sound quality. Its technical lineage is also squarely rooted in the legendary Minmoog, so it has that trademark Moog sound along with sequencers, sample and hold, arpeggiator, presets, and a unique data wheel. The Source was the first Moog synthesizer to offer patch memory storage in 16 preset locations and even has a cassette tape jack to transfer patches to and from an external tape. Other highlights include a Mylar touch control panel and single-knob functionality.

The Moog Source being raffled has its own legacy, as it was donated to the Bob Moog Foundation by Erik Norlander. Erik is an accomplished musician, composer, and sound designer known for co-designing the UNO Synth for IK Multimedia as well as the Alesis Andromeda analog synth. His Moog Source was used on the Dukes of the Orient Freakshow album and was also recorded for the IK Multimedia Syntronik 2 “Sorcerer” virtual instrument.

The Bob Moog Foundation has stated that the raffle only features 5,000 tickets and will end on February 26, 2024, or when all the tickets are sold, whichever comes first. Since the raffle is open internationally and their other recent raffles either sold out or came very close, it’s best not to dawdle. As an extra incentive, those who purchase a bundle of 6, 14, or 40 tickets will receive a free 2024 Bob Moog - His Life and Work 90th Birthday Commemorative Calendar, too. However, this offer is only valid until the limited quantity of calendars runs out.

Tickets for the raffle cost $20 for a single ticket, 6 for $100, 14 for $200 and 40 for $500. The lucky winner will be announced on Friday, March 1, 2024. As always, funds from the raffle will be used to support the Bob Moog Foundation’s educational project, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool.
