OB-E V2 is The First Soft Synth To Be Personally Endorsed By Tom Oberheim

Post date:

GForce Software recently announced that they would be releasing OB-E v2, the successor to their popular OB-E softsynth. The original is based on Tom Oberheim's EVS (Eight Voice), which paved the way for the legendary OB-series that followed.

GForce Software released OB-E VST in 2021 and received several Best Soft Synth awards for their efforts. However, the quality of the soft synth also drew the attention of Tom Oberheim himself. As a result, the company was contacted by Marcus Ryle, a former Oberheim Developer, who, along with Tom Oberheim, was impressed enough to suggest a collaboration to refine the instrument. Working with Tom and Marcus, GForce Software was able to enhance the software synthesizer even further. The result is the v2 update, which refines the Detune feature, adds a new Vintage control, and dials in more realistic musical inaccuracies that are in line with the original instrument. It also carries the full endorsement of Tom Oberheim and Marcus Ryle.

In addition to a new reverb, OB-E V2 also comes with more than a hundred new patches, which brings the total to over 700. In addition, it has a new Zoom function for the sequencer and a new Drum Mode with ten drum kit Presets. OB-E v2 is available for both PC and MAC. It can be purchased from the official website for an introductory price of £99.99 Ex. VAT, but the upgrade is also free to existing owners of OBE-E.
