New BLEASS Omega FM Synth Promises Ease of Use

Post date:

Fans of FM synthesis will be the first to admit that it is not the most user-friendly synthesis method. However, Omega by BLEASS is a new soft synth for desktop and iOS that aims to change this perception. According to BLEASS, creating and crafting sounds in Omega is not just easier than with other FM synths; it's easy - period.

To accomplish this, BLEASS claims to have done away with the arcane programming interfaces that are typically associated with FM. Nevertheless, Omega still features all the classic capabilities of FM Synthesis, such as expressive electric pianos, deep thundering basses, crystal-clear pads, and more too. In fact, since it has an analog-style Waveshaper and multi-mode filter, it can inject powerful analog-like flavor into those pure FM tones.

Omega boasts a user-friendly approach by allowing the four FM operators that drive the synth to be edited simultaneously from within a single screen. All operator envelopes and controls are also just a touch of your finger or click of your mouse away. In addition, it boasts eleven FM algorithms, with each providing a different way for the four operators to interconnect and produce radically different results. This versatility is also on full display, thanks to the included library of over 160 professionally designed presets.

BLEASS Omega is available on mobile for iOS as well as desktops for Windows and macOS. The iOS edition provides both standalone and AUv3 versions for use on iPad and iPhone. In contrast, the desktop edition is available as a VST3 plugin instrument compatible with all major DAWs.
