Roland MC-303 Groovebox

Roland MC-303 Image

The original groovebox for dance/techno! It's got 303, 808, 909, Jupiter, and Juno sounds. It is a sequencer arranger with looks inspired by the original 303's and 808's... Not to mention it includes real-time Filter Cutoff, resonance, panning and arpeggiator. With this box alone you can become a techno music maker!!! It sounds pretty good and has an unbeatable price (around $500)!!!! Though it's been swept aside by the MC-505, JX-305, EG-101 and Yamaha RM1x, it's still a good entry-level machine for those of you on a budget or just starting out. It has been used by ATB.

I have had the mc303 for about a good while,& really like it still. It's good for adding to other synths or for a small band to use .But i do a lot of goa/psytrance experimental stuff & so ir's great for dance...May not be the best groovebox in the world, but it's got some sounds on it that can be quite good for if combining instruments like i do.

I got my MC-303 in a surplus shop here (Philippines) for cheap [php. 2k] and oh my God I love it very much. For years I kept thinking about getting a sampler (in this case, a rompler) for my band to add more creative elements. I play guitar but I never liked the idea of playing just 1 instrument. I like multitasking, you see. I had a few errors but with practice I pretty much can use both guitar and rompler live. I love the presets sounds and that 808 and Juno sounds. It really works with my band's genre/influence which is shoegaze/drone/post hardcore. Money well spent!
